Simformotion™ LLC, Peoria, Ill.—a leader in heavy equipment simulator training solutions—announces the release of the new Cat® Simulators Articulated Truck System. The new Articulated Truck simulation trainer is set in a construction environment where operators can learn the same production applications found on actual worksites.

The system features authentic controls combined with simulated applications. The Articulated Truck teaches Controls Familiarization, how to perform a Machine Walkaround, Driving, Hauling, Braking, two Loading methods, Unloading, Full Production Cycle and also includes a special Open Training mode.

Exclusive to Cat Simulators is SimU Campus™, the software that records and reports the results of all simulation sessions so instructors and users can track progress and identify any inefficiency that needs attention. Hundreds of benchmarks based on Caterpillar expert operators are included in the system, with the operator’s performance measured against these benchmarks and outcomes recorded to a database. Special Bonus features on the Articulated Truck system include companion iPad training, multiple languages and available motion platform.

President Ken Pflederer says, “We’ve had many requests over the past couple of years to develop an Articulated Truck simulator. The actual machine is a beast. Drivers can tip the truck easily if they don’t know the correct operations. That affects production, maintenance costs, insurance costs, potential fines and more. Using the simulator system for training gets the operators up-to-speed before they drive the actual trucks and have an accident.”

In addition to the new Articulated Truck simulator system, Cat Simulators are available in M-Series Motor Grader, Large Mining Dozer, Mining Truck, Heavy Construction Dozer, Hydraulic Excavator, Off-Highway Truck, Small and Large Wheel Loaders, and FM Log Loader.
