Simformotion™LLC, Peoria, Ill.—a leader in heavy equipment simulator training solutions—announces the release of the new Cat® Simulators Off-Highway Truck Simulator System. The new Off-Highway Truck Simulator System is set in a quarry environment where operators can learn the same applications found on actual worksites around the world.
The system combines authentic controls with common quarry site machine applications to create a realistic training experience. The Off-Highway Truck Simulator System teaches Controls Familiarization, how to perform a Machine Walkaround, Systems Test, Driving, Hauling, Braking, Loading, two Unloading methods, Full Production Cycle and a special Open Training mode that allows users to practice any technique or application learned in other exercises.
Exclusive to Cat Simulators is SimU Campus™, the software that records and reports the results of all simulation sessions so instructors and users can track progress. Hundreds of benchmarks based on Caterpillar expert operator performance are included in the system, with the operator’s performance measured against these benchmarks and their outcomes recorded and reported. Special bonus features on the Off-Highway Truck Simulator System include companion iPad training, multiple languages and available motion platform.
Vice President Lara Aaron says, “New operators, students – even experienced operators – can learn on the Off-Highway Truck Simulator System. Operators can lose control of the truck easily if they do not know the correct operations and braking techniques. Production is affected by proper loading and unloading. Maintenance costs, insurance costs, potential fines and more will affect a quarry operation’s bottom line. Learning correct operations or honing skills can significantly contribute to the profits earned.”
In addition to the new Off-Highway Truck Simulator System, Cat Simulators are available in Articulated Truck, M-Series Motor Grader, Large Track Type Tractor, Mining Truck, Electric Rope Shovel, Track Type Tractor, Hydraulic Excavator, Small and Large Wheel Loaders, FM Log Loader and Track Feller Buncher.
Cat® Simulators new Off-Highway Truck features training exercises in a quarry environment.
