Clearing a site for construction? Putting in a road or another highway-related project? Cat® Simulators new Advanced Dozer System teaches these applications and more! Operators can learn the controls and how to perform a walkaround pre-inspection; then move onto site clearance of trees and boulders, pad building, slope/ramp building, road construction, and drainage ditch building. Create your own scenarios in Open Training mode or recreate near-miss scenarios to teach safety. Watch operators follow and match a Grade Control profile throughout the exercises. Results of simulation sessions are recorded and reported to track operator progress. Plus, the simulator has a motion system and VR option! Take a look at the new Advanced Dozer system!

Operator Tip

“When operating a multipurpose bucket (a.k.a. clamshell, grapple, or four-in-one bucket) on a Small Wheel Loader, be cautious of the length of logs you are carrying. Make sure they will fit through your work environment as you navigate the load.”

Meet the Team

Our international team is growing! Dave Rumer (left) and Jonathan LaBerdia (right) are heading up our team for several areas of the world including Europe, South America and Russia! They will be traveling the world to meet with customers and dealers.

LaBerdia is a married father of two from the U.S. He’s been in sales for more than 8 years. Whether it’s reaching a goal, or overcoming an obstacle, Jonathan can find the right training solution. When he’s not connecting dealers and clients with simulators he loves spending time with his family and cooking some of the flavors of the world.

Rumer is married to a talented country music artist, and is a dog dad. He has several creative talents, including music and video. He’s been in customer-facing roles throughout his career and is looking forward to meeting the world’s Cat Simulators users. In his free time, he loves playing music, traveling, and meeting new people.

On the Road

Our new Account Mangers, Dave Rumer and Jonathan LaBerdia, went on the road in the U.S. this week when they attended the IUOE conference at the international training center in Crosby, Texas. Located on a 265-acre campus, the 8,120 square foot facility holds 17 classrooms and labs, a mechanics shop, simulator lab, welding bay, utility plant, 227 room dormitory, fitness center and full dining facilities. Representatives from locals around North America attended training. LaBerdia, Rumer, along with Cat Simulators trainer Simon Halabi, demoed the new Advanced Dozer.

“While at the event we were able to showcase how virtual realty can be used in a training environment to provide depth perception and a better field of view for a more realistic operator experience,” says Laberdia. The attendees were able to experience the VR environment on the big screen while Halabi sat in the operator’s seat. It helped the audience to see the exercise in both screen mode and VR, while not having to exit out of an exercise.

They also featured a new testimonial video from OE324. The Michigan OE324 has been using simulators for several years and are a great partner to Simformotion™. “They really understand the value of training on a simulator before placing a new apprentice on the actual machine,” adds Rumer.
